Vortex flow meters utilize ultrasonic sensing technology to measure even small fluids with poor flow lines. As a result, the system pressure drop and flow meter regulation ratio were significantly improved. This flowmeter has a wide measurement range (up to 70:1) and high accuracy (1% of reading). Vortex flowmeter is a high-precision flowmeter used for gases, digested gases, liquids, and air.
In the flow meter, when the flowing medium passes through the support or "blunt rod", the vortex falls off. The flow meter transmits an ultrasonic beam through an eddy current mode downstream of the pillar. When the vortex shedding occurs, the carrier wave of the ultrasonic signal is modulated.
The modulation of the carrier wave is measurable and proportional to the number of vortex shedding. Digital processing can count eddy currents and convert this value into velocity.
